• East Coast Crates anodized aluminum dog crates and aircraft grade aluminum dog crates are even better than the legendary Bob McKee Crates because we have improved the design, construction and finish. We have been making improved collapsible crates out of the same aircraft aluminum used by Bob McKee crates for many years.  At East Coast Crates we use aluminum that is treated and protected with high quality aircraft finish to prevent coat discoloration.  We have added increased ventilation, improved door construction, added safer door closures, standard airline bars, metal handles, stainless steel rods, trim, hinge, rivets and reinforcements, and removable dolly's to make the crates even better while still maintaining their convenience and portability. All our crates exceed minimal USDA and individual airline requirements.  For 30 years East Coast Crates has been constructing aluminum dog crates in our own sheet metal shop with expert craftsmanship and pride.  We have first hand experience with aircraft aluminum fabrication and aluminum dog crate design and construction enabling us to continue to make constant adjustments and improvements.

• All East Coast Crates aircraft grade aluminum and anodized 050 aluminum dog crates, folding aluminum dog crates, and custom Dog Crates are expertly hand crafted for maximum strength and durability.  East Coast Crates takes aluminum dog crate construction and design very seriously, adhering to the highest standards using only the highest quality materials. Our aluminum is durable, cool, lightweight and available in a variety of labor intensive finishes that will eliminate oxidation, discoloration and coat residue while at the same time hold up with heavy usage.  Unlike powdercoating our finished aluminum dog crates will never rust, chip, or peel,  making an East Coast Crate the ideal dog kennel. 

• We always strive to stay cutting edge and while we are eager to incorporate new technology and designs, we will not sacrifice the safety and quality of our aluminum dog crates by eliminating the hinge assembly used on folding dog crates with a single pin inserted into multiple bends. Those of us with true aircraft metal fabrication experience understand that extreme bending of aircraft aluminum over 90 degrees creates weak spots and cracks and there is no "special tooling" made to prevent this cracking if you are using authentic aircraft aluminum. We will also not replace the rivets with glue because the glue will loosen over time especially when exposed to moisture.  We use stainless steel rivets, trim, hinge, pins and rods exclusively which are essential elements to construct crates that are built to last a lifetime.   Each East Coast Crate aluminum dog crate and Tack Box is painstakingly hand finished.  All edges are turned and hand deburred insuring there are no sharp edges inside or out to pull hair or injure your dog.  High quality products and true craftsmanship take more time and effort but the superior result and benefits you will receive from our extra work are worth it. 

SAFETY FEATURES:

• Doors:  Our airline approved dog crates have a unique double paneled door, finished inside and out that is by far the safest design on the market and come standard with solid stainless steel rods for maximum ventilation and strength. We use the highest quality metal door fasteners which are spring loaded so they can not jiggle open during travel or loosen with usage.  Our superior fasteners combined with our stainless steel hasp secure your dog like no other dog crate available. 

• Ventilation:  Our aluminum dog crates have up to 5 rows of holes to exceed the airline requirement of 14% surface ventilation.  We place ventilation holes in the top 2/3's of the crate.  Holes to the bottom of the crate pose a safety hazard because your dog can potentially get a toe or tail caught and are unnecessary because as we all know heat rises.  We can customize your crate and add stainless steel rod panels for extra cross ventilation.  The aluminum dog kennel floors are raised 3/4" and completely reinforced to add strength, increase flex and insulate from direct temperature transfer when the crate is placed on hot pavement or cold concrete. 

• Shape:  Our crates are a true rectangle and will not tip over if the dog stands up and shifts his weight. Plastic dog crates by design have an unequal weight distribution and can tip over when going up the conveyor belt into the airplane when the dog stands up and shifts his weight causing the crate fall off the belt and to split open or easily popping the door open allowing your dog to get loose.  There are also incidents where roughness on the part of the baggage handlers cause the plastic kennel to split or pop open and let the dog loose.  Unlike plastic dog kennels crates our premium quality construction and design will insure your dogs safety and prevent a potential disaster at the airport.  Please read through our many satisfied customer testimonials.

CONVENIENCE FEATURES:

• Crates with grooming top and Dolly:  A genuine East Coast Crate is a self contained dog show crate, grooming table and dolly all rolled into one.  The top of the crate doubles as a grooming table and the surface is made of heavy duty cushioned matting that will last a lifetime while providing a comfortable, slip proof flooring for your dog.  It will provide the maximum in convenience at the shows by eliminating the need for extra equipment such as separate grooming tables and dolly's.  

• Collapsible and Lightweight:  At East Coast Crates we make the original "ultralight"  folding dog crate constructed out of super strong finished aircraft aluminum which is considerably lighter than our standard 050 anodized aluminum and although it is just as strong it saves an average of about 10lbs on a larger crate.  Our "ultralight" folding dog crate surpasses all other brands in design, construction and convenience folding into a compact suitcase.   Our ultralight aircraft aluminum folding crates come standard with your choice of any color imaginable utilizing aircraft finish which is much lighter than powdercoating.  They also come standard with a cushioned grooming top and super strong stainless steel corner grooming arm receiver that eliminates the need for a separate grooming arm clamp.  

• Crate Dolly:  Our dolly's are a custom fitted, easily removable Wheel System constructed from anodized aluminum square tubing welded into a fitted frame that aligns, attaches and detaches easily to the crate with stainless steel link locks eliminating unsafe bungee cords.  Unlike any other wheel system our dolly's come with heavy duty extra large 5" locking full-swivel wheels to enable ease of mobility and movement over gravel, grass as well as concrete.

• Stack Sets:  Our aluminum stacking dog crates are the ultimate in convenience at dog shows for smaller dogs and you will not know how you lived without it.  They consist of 2 fully independent crates that align, attach and detach easily utilizing stainless steel link locks and come standard with a soft cushioned grooming top on each crate and a stainless steel grooming arm receiver on the top crate.  With a fitted attachable wheel system our stacking dog crates allow you to take your dogs, crates and grooming equipment directly to the ringside and are a perfect grooming height to do expert ringside preparation for a successful and stress-free dog show experience.

• At East Coast Crates all our aluminum dog crates and aluminum tack boxes are meticulously hand made and hand finished at our own facility.  With us you have the luxury to select unique unlimited customization of crate sizes, design Options, and custom crate colors to fit your specific needs and taste.  We make side door crates, double door crates, slant sided crates, and add extra ventilation rods to either side and back.
